On-Site Pre-Move Survey
What We Do
Our on-site pre-move surveys provide a neutral, detailed evaluation of the full workload behind every relocation.
Each inspection is carried out in person no video calls, no guesswork to define the real cubic volume, access, and handling requirements of the move.
-
We measure the full load capacity in cubic feet, room by room, including furniture, boxes, and loose items.
Every category includes an average cubic-foot reference per item, so movers and logistics teams can instantly assess load distribution and vehicle needs.Example: standard sofa ≈ 35 cu ft | double bed ≈ 60 cu ft | wardrobe ≈ 50 cu ft | box average ≈ 4 cu ft.
-
We document every access point staircases, lifts, corridors, parking proximity, and door widths to flag potential restrictions.
Each section of the report includes a short narrative describing the route from property to vehicle space, highlighting tight turns, shared access, or loading limitations. -
Our reports specify the correct packing method for each category from export wrap and acid-free paper to wardrobe cartons and custom crates.
Where specialist protection is required, it’s noted under “Special Materials Recommended.” -
Each report includes a calculated box count per room, based on the British Moving Standards (BAR) sizing system.
We estimate using standard industry box codes:
PK1 – Small cartons (books, china, fragile items)
PK2 – Medium cartons (mixed household goods)
PK3 – Tall cartons (linen, lightweight items)
PK6 – Large cartons (bulky but light contents such as duvets or cushions)
Wardrobe cartons for hanging clothes and suits
Every room summary displays:
The total number of boxes required
A breakdown by box type (PK1–PK6, wardrobe)
A fragile-box count for items requiring extra care or double-wrapping
This approach ensures that movers and packers can plan material quantities, packing hours, and load distribution in full compliance with professional British standards.
-
Every room section of the report includes:
A panoramic photograph of the full space captured during the on-site survey
A complete list of inventoried items in that room
A breakdown of estimated boxes (by PK code: PK1, PK2, PK3, PK6, and wardrobe cartons)
A fragile-box count and special handling notes
This visual-data approach allows any partner mover, insurer, or concierge firm to open the report and instantly understand the scale and layout of each room.
They can see the actual living space, verify that the inventory matches reality, and make accurate operational or insurance decisions without ever re-visiting the property.
Each panoramic image is securely attached to its respective room section within the report, allowing instant reference to what’s included and how it was packed.
-
All fragile or high-value items are highlighted in the inventory with handling notes and method recommendations.
If specialist tools, crating, or additional manpower are needed, these are marked for quote adjustment. -
We record what matters most to your client from preferred timing and privacy concerns to furniture dismantling preferences and protection expectations.
This ensures all instructions are clearly communicated to movers and insurers before any work begins.
